1. Introduction

Tyoon ("we", "our", "us") is a platform that connects clients and service providers to complete tasks efficiently and securely.

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Finnish law.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

Consent when you register (GDPR)

When you create a Tyoon account (including via our authentication provider, e.g. Keycloak), you confirm that you understand and agree that:

  • Your personal data may be processed to provide the service, operate your account, and prevent abuse.
  • Your data may be retained as described in the retention section and longer where law requires.
  • Your data may be shared with processors such as payment providers (e.g. Stripe) and, where permitted by law or your consent, analytics/marketing tools (e.g. Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel).
  • Cookies and similar technologies may be used for login, language preferences, and, where you opt in, analytics.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal data:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and Y-tunnus (Business ID).
  • Authentication Data: Login credentials and data from Google authentication (if used).
  • Geolocation Data: Approximate location for task matching and service availability.
  • Payment Information: Provider platform-fee processing via Stripe; we do not store full credit card details. We do not process customer payment for the work.
  • Uploaded Files: Photos, documents, or other media shared through the platform.
  • Analytics Data: Usage statistics, device information, and cookies collected via Google Tag Manager (including Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) and similar tools.
  • Communication Data: Messages and interactions between users (clients and providers).
  • Email and mailing data: email address, name, language, subscription status, and other information needed to send service and marketing messages. To manage email and mailings we use Zoho services, including Zoho Mail, Zoho Campaigns, and ZeptoMail. Marketing emails may contain technologies that track interaction with the message, such as link clicks, where permitted by applicable law and the user’s consent settings. Service emails may contain trackable links that allow us to assess notification delivery and usage.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts.
  • Match clients with suitable service providers.
  • Process the provider’s platform fee via Stripe.
  • Provide customer support and dispute resolution.
  • Analyze and improve platform performance and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.
  • Send service and transactional notifications related to the use of Tyoon via ZeptoMail.
  • Conduct email correspondence and provide support via Zoho Mail.
  • Send marketing and informational mailings via Zoho Campaigns where the user has given the relevant consent.
  • Manage mailing subscriptions and assess the effectiveness of messages sent.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on:

  • Contractual necessity (to provide the Tyoon service).
  • Legitimate interest (to improve our platform and ensure safety).
  • Legal obligation (to comply with Finnish and EU regulations).
  • Consent (for marketing and analytics cookies).

5. Data Storage and Security

Your personal data is stored securely using trusted service providers, including:

  • Our own database servers for account and task data.
  • Stripe for processing the provider platform fee.
  • Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and marketing tags; Google Analytics and Meta Pixel for analytics and marketing.
  • Zoho Corporation and its services, including Zoho Mail, Zoho Campaigns, and ZeptoMail, for corporate email, contact and subscription management, marketing mailings, and sending service and transactional notifications.

Personal data transferred to these services may include name, email address, language, subscription details, and technical data needed to deliver and process messages.

We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular backups to protect your data from unauthorized access or loss.

6. Data Sharing

We may share data only with:

  • Service providers and clients, to facilitate tasks.
  • Stripe, for processing provider platform-fee transactions.
  • Analytics and marketing partners, such as Google and Meta.
  • Zoho Corporation and its services Zoho Mail, Zoho Campaigns, and ZeptoMail — for corporate email, sending service and transactional messages, and managing marketing mailings and subscriptions.
  • Authorities, when required by Finnish or EU law.

We share with service providers only the personal data necessary to perform the relevant function.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you logged in securely.
  • Remember language preferences.
  • Measure usage with optional analytics cookies (loaded via Google Tag Manager only if you consent).

You can manage cookies in the site cookie banner or your browser settings.

Emails: Tyoon uses Zoho Mail, Zoho Campaigns, and ZeptoMail for email correspondence, service notifications, and marketing mailings. Messages may contain trackable links and, where applicable and permitted based on the user’s consent, other technologies to assess interaction with the mailing. This data may be used to assess message delivery, manage subscriptions, and improve our communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing mailings at any time using the unsubscribe link in the relevant email. Opting out of marketing messages does not affect receipt of necessary service messages related to your account, tasks, offers, security, or the operation of the Tyoon platform.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as required by law.

You may request deletion of your account at any time.

9. Your Rights (under GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Request a copy (data portability).
